Emergency Funds Needed!!!

Petco has donated an additional 20 TONS of pet food to us this month to distribute. All we need to do is raise funds to transport the food to our facility. Rescue groups and shelters in need of food are welcome to participate. Food will be coming to our Lawrenceville, GA facility this Monday, Dec. 19th, so funds are needed IMMEDIATELY! Food can only be stored at Daffy’s warehouse for the remainder of this year due to our big move and expansion in 2012. If you are a rescue or shelter in need of pet food and would like to help us cover the cost of shipping, donations can be made via paypal at www.daffyspetsoupkitchen.com.

We hope to get this food distributed to all those hungry animals for a BIG HOLIDAY TREAT.

Thanks for your continued support!

Skinny puppy needs vetting, foster, and forever home

This poor puppy was found wandering the streets and is in desperate need of help.  We are currently trying to raise funds for his vetting and find him a foster home so he can get his forever home.

The little guy was discovered by one of our volunteers from a couple years ago just wandering the streets of her neighborhood.  We believe he was wither left behind from a foreclosure or was not being fed and managed to escape due to how thin he is.  Unfortunately the person who saved his life cannot keep him due to her other animals not taking well to other dogs so we are looking to find him a good foster home, vet care and his forever home.  he is about 4 months old and weighs 6 lbs.  He is a sweetheart, but we do not know how he is with cats.

We hate to see this happen, and if you are able to help, please contact Tom Wargo at thesosclubofga@yahoo.com&lt Help us help this little guy and others just like him who are victims of unfortunate circumstances by clicking any of the links on our site to donate.

A Big Thank You to Tom Wages Funeral Home

Thank You to Tom Wages Funeral Home and all their staff and all the staff at their pet crematory for a wonderful funeral service for Daffy. Their staff and facility were more than we could ask for. Please thank them for me again and recommend their services to everyone.

The Passing of Daffy Ray Wargo

We are sad to announce the passing of one of our family, our inspiration and a wonderful public figure, Daffy Ray Wargo on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at 9am. Daffy inspired the creation of the first Pet Soup Kitchen in the country that has helped individuals to keep their pets at home. He made us realize the importance of the medical costs and food costs and how they can affect our ability to keep and care for our pets. He has also shown us how important pets are to people. Pets are family members, not throw away objects. We realize this more now than ever. Daffy’s story inspired several news spots on every local Atlanta channel, CNN, several local and national magazines, and newspapers across the country. Daffy also inspired and made it possible for pet soup kitchens to get started across the country and help thousands of people and their pets stay together. Daffy enabled us to see the unmet need of pets in our country and how we could help.

We want to thank all of those who have supported us in the past and continue to support our programs. This has been a devastating blow to our family but we hope to continue to make Daffys inspiration even bigger to honor him and his program.

Please support us and help us grow. Help us in continuing his program and not let it end. Make this a reality and inspiration for other Pet Soup Kitchens across Georgia and this country. Daffy will not be forgotten. Please remember Daffy and all he has done for pets across America.
Daffy will be missed by America, but our family will never be the same. We love you Daffy and miss you. I still look for you and hear you in the house. I find it hard to believe you are gone. You may be gone from sight, but you will never leave my heart.

All is invited to the funeral. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please donate to Daffys Pet Soup Kitchen to help with funeral expenses and programs.

Help Gwinnett become a NO Kill County

As citizens, we need to get a handle as to what is going on in our communities.

  • How are our animals being treated?
  • Who regulates the rescues and shelters?
  • Do we know where our money is going?
  • What are the feral cat laws and how are they enforced?
  • Are some rescues doing a good job?
  • Are some animal controls doing a good job?
  • How can we improve the job they are doing?
  • What can we do to improve the lives of our pet family?
  • What can we do to improve our communities?
  • What can we do as citizens and animal lovers?
  • How can we work together to make a difference?

We are in the process to set up a board of directors and an organization that can help find some of these answers out. We can learn how to be better people and better animal friendly people by getting answers and by asking the right questions to the right people. Power comes in numbers, and I think it is time we do something about it. I see too many of the big groups not doing enough. I have always heard that the big groups get most of the money and most of the little groups do most of the work. I think things need to change and the groups with the money should be doing the work they are supposed to do. We as citizens and donors should have the right to know where our money goes and what is being done and how we can help. We need to work with these groups to improve how things are being run and to do things ourselves to help increase this. We also will do our own work and raise our own money to make sure these things get done. It all starts with you and your willingness to make a difference in an animals life today.
